The Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. supplies LPG gas cylinders to over 47.5 million households via a network of 4990 Indian distributors. In partnership with IOCL, Ezetap launched EzeDelivery – a customized solution to drive digital payments, enable last mile delivery efficiency, and put an end to the problems arising due to cash pilferage.
In India, problems with the distribution of LPG cylinders have been prevalent for decades. The delivery time of a domestic LPG cylinder sometimes runs into weeks, when it should ideally be 2-3 working days. This also impacts the operational efficiency of IOCL’s on-feet delivery fleet. To make things worse, cash pilferage is another issue that has been affecting IOCL’s operational revenue by a huge margin.
EzeDelivery is an integrated solution that has been customized for the Indian Oil & Gas (OnG) sector by Ezetap.
EzeDelivery comes with the last mile delivery tracking system. This assists agent and a user-friendly universal payment acceptance platform. The platform enables end customers to make payments via any mode – credit or debit card, mobile wallet, Bharat QR or UPI.
It captures the geo-coordinates of the customer’s delivery location, thus ensuring and monitoring the safe delivery of refills to the actual beneficiary. Furthermore, it authenticates deliveries with OTPs and a smart card-based solution that facilitates loyalty points. This provides distributors with a real-time delivery confirmation at their offices, thereby avoiding any foul play. This way, EzeDelivery enhances the efficiency of the system with an integrated dashboard that tracks all its stakeholders.
It also reduces the manual effort required from delivery agents and staff while reconciling payments at the end of a day. This directly improves efficiency, thanks to the auto-reconciliation feature and digitally generated memos.
Moreover, Ezetap also has a dedicated customer support team that is active throughout the year. Training programmes have been done on a large scale to ensure that the delivery fleet is well-equipped and has the right knowledge while accepting digital payments. Deployment programmes are also done to ensure that the reach is extended to every village and city across India wherever Indian households have an LPG connection.
India has predominantly been a cash-driven market. What is really required for the citizens to go fully digital, is a paradigm shift in behaviour. Ezetap’s solutions have helped us a great deal in that respect. We've been able to easily train our last mile delivery agents and deploy it on a large scale. ”
